Adverbs

An adverb is a word or group of words that serves to modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, or a whole sentence.

Examples:

The river flowed quietly through the meadow.

A brightly painted car slipped under the sunset.

An adverbial is a word or group of words that functions as an adverb:

I'm singing in the rain.
