HostasFunkia, Plantain lily, Auqust lily are the common names of the royalty of the shade. Hosta, being woodland plants, are suited for the shady parts of the garden. Their lush leaves with bold colours and textures add an exotic effect. Slugs and snails are the only major pest problem. Hosta are very long lived, so keep in mind that it can take up to three years for Hosta to settle into their new home and show their true self. Hardy to Zone 3.
